    PHILOSOPHY & APPROACH

    Integration

I am dedicated to working closely and cooperatively with physicians and other medical specialists in order to complement and enhance conventional treatment methods. I believe that alternative and conventional therapies can work synergistically to treat difficult conditions by obtaining more profound and enduring results than what can be accomplished by using a singular approach.

    Constitutional Approach

An individual's constitution determines how illness will manifest and which factors are likely to trigger, accelerate, halt, or reverse the disease process. The goal of employing a constitutional approach to medicine is to identify the themes and tendencies in a patient's medical history, in order to assess and directly treat one's inherited strengths and weaknesses through the use of diet, exercise, acupuncture, and herbs. My intention is to help my patients develop lifestyles and habits that are appropriate and beneficial to their constitutional nature.

Successful results are obtained from frequent treatments.

  • COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE

Did you know that acupuncture can be used to help reduce sag & wrinkles, firm & augment breasts, tone muscles, and shape thighs & calves?

This safe and painless acupuncture technique was developed centuries ago from a similar technique used by Chinese acupuncturists to treat muscle atrophy.

Jennika Wildau, LAc, is professionally trained and certified in the techniques and protocols of using acupuncture for physical enhancement. She offers free consultations to determine the appropriateness of Cosmetic Acupuncture for your needs, skin-type, and body-type.

To obtain the best possible results, a course of 10 treatments over a 5-week period is recommended.

Patients who prepay for all 10 treatments receive a 10% discount.

    HOT STONE MASSAGE

Hot Stone Massage Therapy uses heated stones to quickly relax muscles and increase circulation throughout the body. These smooth black Basalt stones of varying shapes and sizes are used as tools to apply greater pressure and precision into areas being worked. Massage cream or oil is kneaded into the skin so that stones can glide smoothly over the body. The stones are heated in a crock-pot full of near-boiling water. During the massage, the stones are placed on a towel to cool slightly before being used. The intense heat radiated by the stones is extremely beneficial to injured, tense, and overworked muscles. This style of massage can be extremely deep or very light in pressure, depending on the needs and preferences of each person.

Who should try Hot Stone Massage? Anyone who loves massage will adore the luxurious sensation of hot stones melting away the tension and knots in your muscles. The intense heat given off by the stones helps to release tension and resistance in the tissues, creating a relaxing and blissful sate of body and mind.

    WHAT IS ORIENTAL MEDICINE?

Traditional Oriental Medicine is a comprehensive health-care system that is well over 3,000 years old. It includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage, nutritional and physical education. These are conservative, non-invasive therapies, which work to enhance the body's ability to heal itself. In most cases, Oriental medicine may be used in conjunction with conventional medical treatments in order to maximize therapeutic results, and to help alleviate the side effects that can develop from various drug and surgical therapies.

    How Does it Work?

Oriental medicine is based on an energetic model rather than the biochemical model of Western medicine. The ancient Chinese made careful studies of the vital energy, or life-force, present in all living things. They called this energy "qi" (chi) and discovered that it circulates along pathways just under the skin. These pathways interconnect to form a web of relationships between the various tissues, organs, and physiological functions within our bodies. Injury and illness can deplete or obstruct the flow of qi in these pathways. Stress, lack of sleep, over-work, and improper nutrition can all lead to a similar condition of diminished and/or "stuck" qi which, in turn, paves the way for illness and injury to occur. Acupuncture is performed by placing thin, disposable, and sterile needles into acupoints along the pathways that travel through the affected area or body system. Some conditions are also treated with herbs that are taken internally or applied topically. When properly prescribed, Chinese herbs are quite effective and do not produce the side effects common to many Western medications.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM RECEIVING TREATMENTS?

Many conditions - especially acute problems that have developed suddenly and recently - may be alleviated quickly with acupuncture and herbs. In some cases, only two or three treatments are needed to resolve a condition. By contrast, chronic pain and illnesses that have developed over a course of years will take time and patience to heal, and may require several months of consistent treatment to achieve desired results. Prospective patients may schedule a free consultation to determine weather or not acupuncture and/or herbs will be appropriate and beneficial to their particular condition.
